Learning Ukrainian

Our Story

In 2013, The Ukrainian-American Cultural Center was formed with the aid of a bequest from Warren and Pauline Bruggeman's estate.  The cultural center existed side by side with the Ukrainian American Citizens Club (est. 1929) in Watervliet, NY until 2021 when the citizens club permanently folded into the cultural center.  The cultural center and its volunteer board of directors aim to promote Ukrainian culture and language through educational events and access to Ukrainian sources to bridge Ukrainian and American cultures.

Are we a charity?

We can only stay a public charity with a public and financial interest from people like you.  Becoming a member, making donations, and participating in fundraisers is how we raise money to help organizations and the community around us.
